Penguins cast adrift on an ice float
Safe from Penguins

For the past six weeks I have been trying to help site owners in the Google’s Webmaster Central. Many of the sites were sailing along fine for the last few years building so-so links from so-so sites. Then Panda and Penguin showed up and spoiled everything.

Wondering if you’re at risk for a Penguin Penalty? Find out for just 99 cents at PenguinAnalysis.com!

There is a huge pool of small and medium sized businesses that are either going it alone, or once worked with an SEO company that built low cost, low return spammy links and added their clients to spammy directories? How many times can you answer their question, “How do I know which links are spammy?

Those were the question we started fielding as the consultation calls started rolling in post-penguin. Many calls started with, “Can you help us with a reconsideration request?” The truth was, most didn’t need a reconsideration request, they just needed to clean up their old spammy links.

For those of us lucky enough to have access to Open Site Explorer and Majestic SEO we can spot the problem links pretty easy. If you work at a data-driven SEO agency you can fall back on dozens of in-house tools. We can spend half an hour on the phone with a client explaining exactly what we see. What if you don’t have a big SEO agency you can call? How much would a site owner pay to press a button that was labeled, “Click to see the links that are causing you problems“? What if there was another button labeled, “Contact the site owner and ask then to remove your link“.

We didn’t have the manpower to accept all of the incoming requests for help, which of course makes an agency like ours crazy, so we decided to do something about it. We created a tool that uses almost every internal tool we’ve built over the last 4 years and will now share it with anyone who needs it.

Remove 'em professional link removal tool logoToday we are announcing the launch of Remove ’em – a professional backlink removal tool. Finally there will be a tool that can help you beat the Penguin! From this single tool you can:

  1. Get a list of all your backlinks
  2. See which ones are probably raising a red flag for Google
  3. See the anchor text used for all of your links
  4. Get the contact information for the site with the potentially spammy backlink
  5. Contact the webmaster at that site
  6. Keep track of the progress

The biggest features of this tool is the time savings in finding the contact information for the webmasters you’ll need to contact. Because we’ve been building up a contact database for some time, we now have roughly 8.4 million email addresses of site owners all over the world.

The algorithm for deciphering which backlinks are probably being flagged as spammy takes the guess work out of the process.

For most site owners this will be a one-time tool that they will use to clean up some youthful indiscretions and then be able to move on.
