Every time I create a “top” list, I start to hear Casey Kasem’s voice somewhere saying “now let’s get back to the countdown.” Creating this list is important because whether you’re an SEO expert or a beginner, these accounts below will help you gain a firm grasp in the voodoo art that is SEO. The list below (in no particular order) is the best of the best follows on Twitter for all your SEO news and knowledge:
Barry Schwartz (@rustybrick): Mr. Schwartz is one of the more active SEO experts on Twitter. I find myself checking his account a few times each day. He is my “latest breaking news” guy.
Moz (@Moz): Some would say the products they promote are the best part but I find their blog to be one of the best out there. Daily guest bloggers give the reader a different perspective each day.
Search Engine Land (@sengineland): This is one of my favorite SEO blogs. Scroll through their pages for 10 minutes and you should be up to date on the SEO news of the day.
Google Webmaster Tools (@googlewmc): If you are involved in any capacity with SEO, this is a must follow. GWT allows webmasters to see how their site is performing in Google. More importantly, if you are having issues with your search results, this should be your first stop.
Russ Jones (@rjonesx): Yes, I know it may seem like I’m playing favorites here, but I have to give credit where credit is due. Russ is a great follow for everything SEO related. His blog, thegooglecache.com, is very informative. If you’re lucky you will also see his tweets on politics and what it’s like raising three daughters.
Duane Forrester (@DuaneForrester): The Sr. Product Manager for Webmaster Outreach at Bing has fantastic insight on the industry. Some would say he is what Matt Cutts used to be for Google.
Michael Gray (@graywolf): Gray is a SEO blogger, consultant and speaker. His blog is a great read for all types of SEO experts.
Search Engine Journal (@sejournal): Another solid SEO news source but also gives the reader a decent amount of tips.
Jeff Bullas (@jeffbullas): Forbes touted him as a Social Media Power Influencer. Jeff is constantly tweeting so you’ll never be bored following him.
Larry Kim (@larrykim): The founder of WordStream gives you a lot of strong analytical analysis on SEO and PPC Marketing. I recommend checking out his articles in Inc. Magazine as well.
